Pom Pom and Snare are generally used close to the shore line to clean up heavy and viscous hydrocarbons. Snares are used off the shore or on smooth shore lines while Pom Poms are used around rocky areas or where snare might otherwise snag. Pom Poms and Snares both come on a 50 foot rope containing 30 Pom Pom or 30 Snare with one line per bail. They both also come without the rope packaged 30 each per bail.  

 Oil Snare was designed to recover bunker C, crude oil, and numbers 4, 5, & 6 oil. Recovers 20 to 60 times its own weight, depending on the viscosity of the oil. Oil Snare singles are helpful when used with oil/water separators. Use to capture stray globs of oil on the water; also handy for cleaning rocks and pilings. Oil Snare on a rope makes it easier to retrieve multiple snares. Remove oils from sandy, rocky beaches and marshlands. Rope allows them to be secured to the shoreline for cleaning. More cost effective than meltblown polypropylene sweeps.
